This is one of the oldest known breeds with strong similarity to paintings and sculptures of ancient Egyptian cats. They are extremely intelligent, active and people oriented. They love people and are always on and around their owners and are very loyal companions. Their most outstanding feature is their coat colour because although they are tabby they have a ticked coat and no other tabby markings.

The Bengal is a short-haired cat emanating from the wild which has a distinctive spotted or marble patterning. They are busy, energetic and vocal and are known by their characteristic “chirping”. This medium-sized cat is active, loves water and needs space. The “glitter” that can appear on some coats is highly prized.

The Birman’s personality is gentle, active and playful but quite unobtrusive if you are busy with other things. They are large cats with medium to long silky hair with a heavy ruff around their necks. The cat is considered to be “pointed”, has deep blue eyes and white feet which are its main characteristic.

A medium to large breed often called the "teddybear" cat. This cat has a short, thick and water repellent coat. They are good-tempered, have calm and confident personalities and make easy-going and loyal companions.

Although a medium sized cat they are often described as “bricks wrapped in silk”. They love being with people and have been known to shadow their owners from room to room. They are extroverts, very intelligent and have strong personalities.

PERSIAN SILVER & CHINCHILLA LONGHAIRS |

These cats are known for their sparkling look which they derive from a pure white undercoat tipped with blue or black. Well-known for their “make-up” they have very large, round expressive eyes which are outlined in black.
Colours: Chinchillas are only found in the blue or black variety but can be found in either tipped or shaded silver.

Cornish Rexes are affectionate and people oriented. They are very active and love to play, their play usually being very inventive and acrobatic. Their most outstanding feature is their short, soft wavy coat and very large ears. It has been said that as a result of their high level of activity they require large amounts of “fuel”, but do not overfeed.

The Devon Rex has a mad-cap personality and a very nimble mind. They have a pixie-face and bat-like ears with a short coat which has downy fur with curls and ripples. They are affectionate and sensitive and well suited to being indoor cats.

This breed is also known as the Persian in pyjamas. They have exactly the same features as the Persian except that they have a thick, dense, plush and short coat. Exotics are sweet and loving and slightly more lively than their Persian ancestors. They are extremely affectionate and very loyal.

Maine Coons are medium coated cats. They are often called “the gentle giants” of the cat fancy. They are one of the largest breeds where the males can range between 6 and 10kg. Extremely gentle they are loyal pets and very sociable.

The Dachshund of the cat world! Munchkins have the general look of a domestic cat but with unusually short legs. They come in short as well as semi-longhair coat lengths. Despite their short legs they are agile, fast runners and keen climbers. They have wonderful kittenish, outgoing and playful natures.

They are large cats with a so-called foxy look to their faces and are affectionately known as “Wegies”. They make wonderful companions. The wegie is a kind, gentle and loving cat, very patient and extremely good with people.

Known as “the racehorse” of the cat fancy, this breed has a very colourful personality. They are extremely boisterous and loving and make wonderful companions. They are curious and intelligent, playful, spirited and loyal.

One of the largest breeds, the Ragdoll is a loving and laid-back, medium-haired cat characterised by its beautiful big blue eyes. They are extremely people orientated and get along well with other cats and dogs.

Sometimes called the ballerina cat, the Russian has a slim, graceful, long-legged body. Their coats are short but thick and plush with a wonderful silver shimmer. They have vivid green almond-shaped eyes and prominent whisker pads. Russians are gentle and affectionate but not demanding or noisy. They make excellent indoor cats.

This cat has exactly the same body type and personality as the Oriental but is characterised by its unique coat colour: the body colour varies between glacial white and magnolia depending on the colour of the points. The "points" are the ears, face (or mask), legs and tail.
Colours: most well known are the seal, chocolate, blue, red and cream. Also various tortoiseshell shades. Most recent colours recognised are the caramel, fawn and apricot.

The Somali is the Abyssinian's longhaired cousin. These beautiful cats are often described as little foxes. They have large ears, expressive eyes, full ruff and a bushy tail. Somalis are very social, extremely intelligent and active but not as vocal as the Abyssinian.

Though they look hairless, the Sphynx is actually covered in a short, silky fur with the texture of soft chamois or suede. The skin is wrinkled! The Sphynx is vulnerable to both cold and heat and is therefore an indoor only cat. They have a mischievious and playful nature, are affectionate and never aggressive.

Combining the best traits of the Burmese and the Siamese, the Tonkinese is warm, loving and playful. They are not as vocal as the Siamese but do enjoy talking to their owners. Their bodies are not as long as the Siamese and they have rounder faces.
Colours: found in three patterns: solid, mink and pointed. Colours are: brown, blue, chocolate, lilac, red, apricot, caramel, tabby and tortie.
