The All About Cats in South Africa (issue no. 57) came in the mail late yesterday!! I read it this morning and it's fabulous and informative. I particularly enjoyed the Kitty Snippets section.
Did you know that section has a photo of Skinzin Queen Nefertit of TrueZue, aka, Emme' True? Emme' is Terry and Sharron True's cat that is currently ranked 3rd here in the US, and 1st in our region of CFA (our Rose is 3rd regionally). As you k ow, the True's are our friends, CFA mentors, and Terry is all of our physician. How surprising to see Emme' in the magazine!
That photo was taken at the acute rehab facility that my dad was treated at for 3 months and USA Today (national newspaper) did an article on Emme' and their other two therapy cats, Jak and Bare.
The article on feeding multiple cats was interesting as we've had a couple of the issues discussed and, apparently, did a proper job of resolving it. Very good article and one that would be useful for SBEN readers.
The holistic article I found intriguing. We give Bilbo a bone / muscular supplement every day and feels it's had a great effect on his mild hip dysplasia. I don't recall seeing a similar article in any of the US cat magazines.
I found it fascinating to read about the differences in our cat show circuits. For example, CFA doesn't have Stewards to present the cats to the judge, the judges retrieve each cat from the show ring cages and at our shows every entrant has an elaborate cage set-up, show cage curtains, and a variety of photos, personal grooming tables, and large non-metal cages mostly - like Sturdi Product single or double cages. I actually liked the way everyones breed section was similar as it puts the focus back on the cat and not the fancy curtains!
I have thoroughly enjoyed reading the entire magazine!
